Stone Carving Exhibition and Auction to Benefit Florence Public Library

Classically Trained Carvers from Central Texas to Create Original Works of Art On Site

March 21, 2016 – On Friday and Saturday April 8 and 9, stone carvers from across Central Texas will come together in Florence, Texas for a special on-site carving exhibition and auction to benefit the local library. It will take place at the Vineyard at Florence and is open to the public.

This two-day event offers visitors the unique opportunity to watch and meet many of state’s most talented craftsmen and women as they create sculptural works of art in stone over the course of the weekend. There will be demonstrations of time-honored traditional techniques as well as informal discussions about the carving process and influence. Families with children are welcome and encouraged to come out as there will be opportunities for young and old alike to try their hand at carving under the guidance of participating professionals.

On Saturday the event will culminate with an auction of the completed works to benefit the Florence Public Library.

Public libraries are an essential part of every community and the Florence Library has a rich history of providing educational initiatives and resources for area residents.
