Nestled in the most northern portion of Williamson County, Florence is a relatively small town, with a population of 1,313, according to the 2020 Census. In the not so distant past, Florence was predominantly a farming and ranching community. Due to the growth in Texas—and more importantly, Williamson County--farm and ranch land is slowly giving way to subdivisions and industry. Not really surprising since Williamson County is the 12th fastest growing large county in the nation!
To meet the needs of our growing community, new retail businesses and restaurants have opened in town, larger corporations have selected Florence as their home, increasing employment opportunities, and we just passed a bond for almost $50M to build a new Elementary School, band hall and field house. Change is happening and we are doing our very best to keep up with the needs of the families and companies who have chosen Florence as their home.
Whether you are looking for a place to live, a site for your business, or simply a place to visit, we welcome you to visit Florence!
